Kris Margherio Named 11U Head Coach After Coach Herr's Retirement

CarShield Hockey is proud to announce that Kris Margherio will be taking over as 11U Head Coach for the upcoming 2025-26 season as Coach Dan Herr retires.

A St. Louis native, Kris Margherio has been involved with hockey as a player, coach, and powerskating instructor for over 40 years. Kris played his youth hockey for the Creve Coeur Comets and the St. Louis Amateur Blues before skating with the St. Louis Junior Blues (junior B) and Danville Wings (junior A).

A graduate of John Burroughs School, Kris played Division-I hockey for St. Lawrence University, where he earned Scholastic All-American honors three consecutive years and helped the team progress to the Frozen Four in 2000. While in graduate school, Kris also played for the London School of Economics hockey team in London, England.

Kris coached AA hockey in Reston, VA before moving with his family back to St. Louis in 2024 and serving as an assistant coach for the Carshield 2014 team. He and his family are thrilled to be back in St. Louis, working with so many great players and families in the community.

Joining Kris this season as an assistant will be CarShield Hockey alum, Andy Willis!  Andy played NCAA Division-I for Lindenwood University and professional hockey in the ECHL and SPHL.
